Does anyone else here despair at the enormity of their "to read" list?

>> No.8531175

Im at the point where I want to reread books I haven't 3 years ago but I also have a huge backlog.

Better than having nothing to look forward to I guess

It wouldn't be so bad if I actually had a place to read in my house. I can only read for about an hour each night while in bed. And I'm a slow reader so it takes me about a week to get through a 280 page book.

Why don't you just watch TV if it's too hard for you

Anyone have that comic of the guy trying to sleep and a figure looms over him and starts prattling off the things he hasn't read yet?

That's a big assumption there m8. The despair comes from knowing that despite reading at least 100 pages a day, I'll never read every book that I want to. I wouldn't read if I didn't enjoy it

>> No.8531680

I don't get how anyone could despair over the knowledge that they'll likely never run out of books to read

Your whole approach to this hobby is off if you do

>> No.8531826

It kinda a pains me that there are books I set down and 10 years later the bookmark is still in the middle of them.
But that's just The Zeigarnik Effect.
I shouldn't be tormented about leaving something unfinished, I should be tormented that I don't know how the story ends. But I could care less about what happens, which means it's probably wasn't any good.
