It doesn't work for either. At least the Nazis realized that. I'm not sure if hippies/leftist post-structuralists realize it. The irony is that the Nazis ended up being extremely technological, despite thinking in German, which Heidegger argued would be less prone to the nihilistic concealment of Being that is the history of the west.

The strength of the Nazis was to be 20-50 years ahead of the allies.

And Heidegger probably realized that he worked himself into a corner, dismissing Democracy and Communism and saying "National Socialism is the Custodian of Being" but then he realized they were just technophiles.
