Have you realised yet that literature is a near dead medium that has descended in to artfaggotry? Or do you really think that Tao Lin and Mira Gonzalez are worthwhile?

Poetry, painting, music, and other things are definitively dead as well.

Icy Calm was right. The descent of an art form in to death and artfaggotry is due to technology and the creation of new art forms.

Personally I don't think books are completely replaceable by other media but when the talent is fucking drained out of it and there are now thousands more ways to both express and appreciate creativity than writing or reading novels then why deny it? I will not give up on novels but I must become more ruthless in dropping novels if they're uninteresting.

When do you think literature began descending into artfaggotry? Can you provide an example of a novel that exemplifies the descent and few reasons why?

I don't know the history well enough but look at pomo trash like Gravity's rainbow. It is cringeworthy watching lit pretend this lolsorandumb nonsense is funny or well put together.

> lit criticism and production is almost universally performed by myopic fucbois who have no sense of context
> they haven't seriously addressed the greatest quandaries of the 21st century psyche; i.e. the unique human condition created by recent advances of technology and revelations in science,
> they cannot even attempt to do so because the 'literati class' simply cannot understand the nature of modern technocracy or why it came about, because at university they never took a class that wasn't self-referential humanities bullshit

RIP humanities. RIP modern literature. RIP modern 'philosophy'.
Primo example? Anything the faggot Tao Lin does, e.g. American Apparel. Confused fucboi who

Have you been reading anything published in the past twenty or thirty years?

lol that is the equivalent of playing the ball out of the back in soccer and scoring a goal when in fact a simple long ball would have done the trick.

it doesn't prove much of anything unless you believe in that philosophy of play. of course then you will cream your pants, but in both cases the ball goes into the net.

You may not like it but you can't argue that it's lolsorandumb or at least constructed interestingly. Pynchon puts a lot of research behind what he writes and it shows but only if you take the effort to look beneath the surface a little bit
