What is this correlation between sex and death I'm hearing everyone talking about? Can you explain it? Is there a book that explains this vague and seemingly mutually exclusive thing or things?

Have you ever climaxed so hard you lose the notion of "yourself"?

Imagine you are inside a woman (or have another human being inside you), and you both experience that kind of climax. Your bodies are intertwined and both of you have just lost your sense of self.

There is no "you" in that moment. For a second (in your case) the self dies to become part of something greater, the union of two people.

Or at least that's how I perceive it.

Or, in weeb terms: ifyou've watched End of Evangelion, it's kinda like Instrumentality.

for real that's a good analogy,

Well, if you have sex, there is a certainty you will one day die.

It's the polarity of the two actions; they are opposite ends of the spectrum of experience.

Sex is the prime spark of life and a joining of consciousness and physical being.

Death is the cessation of life and consciousness.

Often when we experience a thing our internal voice, unbidden, reminds us of it's opposite.

Freud spent a large part of his career differentiating the twin drives of eros and thanatos and their relationship in the human consciousness --- I'd look there if I were you

>The process is analogous to the creation and exhaustion of a battery. This pressure for molecular diffusion can be called a "death-wish". The compulsion of the matter in cells to return to a diffuse, inanimate state extends to the whole living organism. Thus, the psychological death-wish is a manifestation of an underlying physical compulsion present in every cell.

You know what just read GR instead; he doesn't waste any time with this "molecular diffusion" nonsense but gets right down to entropy and the beauty of death and diffusion as well as love and the struggle against it.

I know this was published 50 years before GR but jesus christ it's like he's a bumbling step behind Pynchon at every turn

im retarded but i think of it kinda like how salmon do during spawning season. they struggle and do crazy shit swimming up waterfalls to get to the spawning grounds. then they have sex and die having fulfilled the task that drove them to such extreme and impressive feats. so it makes death sexy or erotic i guess for salmon and sex deathy since it's literally a death sentence. and ppl are just highly evolved land salmon pretty much.
