its been 2 years since we started TLOTIAT and 1 year since we started Hypersphere, lets go for a hat trick. i wrote a terrible placeholder intro to get people started.

whats up with the resurgence of collab lit on here?
there are several threads now. i posted this on the other one and think its relevant here:

> we should not use the same gimmick as the others.

>we should probably carve out a plot or theme first and then write around it, running of into tangents and sub-sub-sub chapters but always flittering around a central theme or plot.

>we should try and keep current memes, which will date the book significantly, out so that we form a true masterpiece which can be immortalised in the para-canon.

>we should keep it entirely a secret on /lit/ (i know 4chan isnt a "secret club" but compared to reddit /lit/ is just two guys in a public toilet frotting) until completed

>we should try to make it actually decent. we need a way to discard the husk of shit from the kernel of literary worth without censoring true creative expression - perhaps a form of democratic censorship?

>it needs to be short. 300 pages max.

>we shouldnt start until after summer is over. but we can always brainstorm now. get people to write some samples. share ideas. map out plot ect

>anyone agree?

basically, wait a while.

here is what i think we should do (in a while).

a collection of interconnected short stories. using the same characters from the canon in utterly anachronistic comic situations. loosely centred on the set of themes of absurdity, repetition, the unknown, science, mystery, post-post-modernism.
they should form some kind of puzzle - like a detective novel, using esoteric clues from literature, history, science ect.

using multiple languages (keep it european).

dont just stick to lolsorandom, /pol/ humour, stream of consciousness, memes, ect that is used in the recent collabs.

definitely delete this doc. wait until we know what we are doing.

>> No.8308866

So, what would be the plot, or even some outlines of it?

>> No.8308889

>>8308877
firstly
>plot

secondly, maybe a detective novel of sorts. set in different literary settings, with different literary characters. maybe something like The Trial, where the crime isnt revealed but we see the detective interviewing all these characters and hearing their views on random things. even the mystery is a mystery, like maybe an unspecified object is stolen and we never find out what is is. i just had an idea of like a maze (one you find in childrens puzzle books) with multiple exits which run along the margins on the books to different passages.

idk. i think the plot should be collaborative as well, so i wouldnt want to outline it myself.

Plot ideas:

Ragtag crew of skinheads plan out a glorious hate crime spree at the end of which they are supposed to drive a stolen giant bulldozer through a pride parade before kamikazeing it into a synagogue. Things end up going terribly, terribly wrong.

Nick Gomulka: leader of the pack, also minor YouTube bodybuilding celebrity and occasional frontman of indescribably shitty nazi punk band.

Liam Gomulka:Nick's brother, weird racist weeb who spergs out about conspiracy theories in public.

Maureen Gomulka: mother of the aforementioned. Despite being morbidly obese, unable even to pass through the front door, she manages to inflict considerable physical and emotional abuse on her children. Likes: popping pills and watching pawn shop themed reality TV all day long.

Kristeen: Nick's gf.Junior manager at Dairy Queen.

It's a bit more vivid, the plot kind of unwinds in the middle but people discussed it enough to work out a climax that's not a complete (complete) "fuck you reader", there's some good short stories that kind of work in there own universe, bottleman dropped some nasty prose, and, I think, there's a strong absurdist theme that kind of rifts of the zeitegiest of the hyper-exaggerative and commercial internet generation.

A lot of it is shit though. You should read it on drugs and skip the parts you dislike.

a choice excerpt, alot funnier if you've seen end of the tour:
“You don’t think I’m an everyman, that’s it right!”
“I just walked in the door, why don’t we introduce ourselves.” said Lipsky.
ayy
“No, I can see it, you think I’m a Hollywood jerk!” raged David "Career Move" Wallace
At this point David Lipsky was afraid for his life but knew this would be the interview of the decade.
“Ah, about the ontological themes in your opus Infinite Jest, I wonder-”
“If we ate like this all the time what would be the problem?” interjected Wallace. There was no food or drink in sight. Lipsky looked at him perplexed.
Wallace was now doing a hoedown dance in the middle of the room, stomping his feet and whooping in a loud voice. “I’m a regular dude!” he bellowed. “I don’t care about fame! I cherish my regular guyness!”
“Did I mention I own two dogs and drink diet coke?” said Wallace.
Lipsky cast his gaze around the warm, dirty living room. There were heaps of empty diet coke cans everywhere and beach towels used as curtains on the windows. The words “I am a regular guy. Fame doesn’t bother me. I cherish my regular guyness and drink diet coke” were etched into the coffee table in a crude script.
“Hey, let’s go get some dirty Nebraskan pussy at the hoedown!” exclaimed Wallace. “Oh, you’re gay? I know a megachurch we could huff paint in then burn down. Did I mention I named my book after a line in Hamlet? It fucking sucks being rich and white, that’s what it’s about. That’s all brown people want to read about, attractive wealthy people wringing their hands over our futility of it all. This is off the record right?”
Lipsky was appalled at David’s behavior. He contemplated getting up and leaving but Wallace was blocking the door with his large frame.
“Hey I know, let’s get your girlfriend on the horn. It’s only 3am in New York .”

I also put a chapter in-between
>2004 Introduction by Ernest Hemingway
and
>Peculiar Case of Jason Phaeton, Part 1

that details the current landscape of art aesthetic as having transitioned to a new sincere/metamodern state.

>"Year is 2016"

I go on to include the diary entries of an elementary school student that perhaps serve as a primer for our protagonist - a forward of sorts.

Will this thing have any minor editing? I don't mean correcting any of the work or fixing spelling mistakes, I mean more in regards to structuring.

I get mild OCD triggers seeing 3 pages left blank and then the a new chapter starting halfway down the next page

I wrote this, but I'm not sure if the jokes are funny enough. It'll need to editing.
