How do you alcohol-/lits/ moderate your consumption for optimal writing prowess? Does moderation matter to you?

I tend to drink too much and then my writing starts to go to shit and I lose focus.

I drink a lot but I don't drink when I write. I usually lose control of my consumption, which doesn't end well. I write a lot hungover though, which is great.

Pretty much this except for the last part. Though I'm probably a lightweight compared to the more seasoned boozers here since I typically only drink half a bottle of whiskey or cognac once a week if I can even afford it.
