Not the biggest fan of Pahlaniuk.

Try House of Leaves I guess. It is unorthodox but enjoyable and hard to put down.

The general consensus on /lit/ is that Palahniuk's novels are a bit childish, a bit '14-year-old boy', and as such he's frequently used by trolls along with Ayn Rand books and the ASoIaF books.

Don't ever listen to anyone who don't like Palahniuk. Or to anyone who likes Ayn Rand.

We-ellll.. Like and like.... I kind of read his books from time to time. I have a healthy fascination for his writing

i like certain palahniuks. survivor, fight club, and my personal favorite; choke. however, others, like for example pygmy were just...okay. palahniuk tends to get a little carried away and downright outlandishly ridiculous and that just takes SO MUCH away from the story lines.

/lit/ mostly hates Palahniuk.

OP here, I could see why some people may feel they are "above" his books. I liked Survivor and Fight Club, the only other one I read was Haunted, and that was a bit to much...

But I did like how he wrote Survivor, even if some of you may feel it too "14 boyish"

Ayn Rand is just ridiculous.

Informative? So... nonfiction?

Sure, just as long as its an interesting read. If I knew palahniuk would get me a shitstorm, I wouldn't have mentioned him haha

If you like Palahniuk read Fight Club, Survivor, Choke and Invisible Monster. STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM EVERYTHING ELSE.

This is why /lit/ hates Palahniuk and his fans.

An informative book that focuses on science is Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything.
