Anyone else have the problem where a changed cover hides a books true colors? Like pic related.

You'd think just by looking at it that it's a cool fantasy, and it definitely is. Main characters go into like the river of death using bells to summon shit, there's a wall like Game of Thrones dividing normal society with the supernatural North.

But then when you see what the cover is in the non-collected edition what happens later in the series makes sense....(see next pic)

had to skip like 10 chapters in the 2nd/3rd books because of fucking fanfic tier romance that just went on and on and on

I'm glad I read it but holy shit that was unnecessary, was like someone inserted a second plot into a different book
