It's the weakest, most unsupported argument Bloom tosses around, especially about a play he considers to be the pinnacle of human achievement, in any field.

His argument is that Yorick is somehow Hamlet's REAL dad therefore like Freud totally does not like reduce the whole fucking play to the Oedipal complex, so he can retain both his Freudian analyses of poet rivalry with Shakespeare as the supreme poet.

But it's not a fucking argument. He provides 0 evidence.

Right when you think he's going to explain how Hamlet evades Freud he changes the subject and starts talking about Falstaff or some teaching method that he thinks is degenerate.
