If you were to tell a person to read 1 book before committing suicide, what book would it be?

(The message of the book can be whatever - from "do it faggot" to "there's always hope" or anything else)

There are a lot of things I think a suicidal person can take from it and it will especially challenge them on an emotional level re. not confirming biases or acting like a stereotyped "supportive friend."

the opening book to any pulpy series of sci-fi novels.

nothing creates a sense of purpose like having to read through 5-10 books worth of characters and lore you've become invested in.

also: genre fiction is a useful means of escapism. the next step is RPG's (vidya and round a table) and then LARPing if said person is able to find new friends with their hobby and possibly achieve a modicum of happiness or at least contentment.

better to be an alive loser with loser friends and a loserish but fulfilling set of hobbies than a dead loser with nothing to live for.

It's not in english.

And I still have some hopes to eventually finding a publisher smart and brave enough to realize the immense depth and scope of the novel and give it a shot. It could save the entire human race and the biosphere itself.

it's even worse when you're doing it conciously
like you know how much shit sucks and you trynna distract yourself with shit that makes your feel good so that you can take off your mind from the present shitness
