Seems pretty obvious to me. Every Social-Democratic country has a way more intensive government than the United States. Their leaders also have way more power. It's more about guaranteeing safe products and goods for consumption and guaranteeing healthcare/food/water/shelter for everyone (This is ideal to many people, myself included). I make a joke about everyone being gay, hippie communists and you jump down my throat about it. What else am I supposed to do other than play along? I'm not even really that right-wing. I believe that the rights of the citizen should be upheld. The government's job should only be to allow individuals to prosper and to protect the citizens so they can live their lives and achieve their goals. A lot of things that are thoughts to be "socialist" actually help in many ways to ensure this. The only thing that pisses me off is the exploitation of the welfare system, which most countries do not do shit about.
