My favoutite book so far is The Stranger by Albert Camus. I want to hear your opinions.

my favourite book is Blood Meridian but I've only been here a few months and read like 10 books

I liked the Stranger until the ending.
Though I wouldn't say it's my favorite, being that the first half is exposition and then the next fourth is Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and then the last fourth being Philosophy for Dummies.

My favorite would have to be The Picture of Dorian Gray and/or Inferno to be honest family

This has become my favorite over the past year. I read through the Meditations poems a lot. Before I purchased this in it's place was the Book of Disquiet.

Best thing about that book is that it's a quick read.

My two favourites are Ulysses and Under the Volcano. I could read them over and over for the rest of my life and not tire of them. Can you say that about Camoose?

So you don't understand it, anon? Well others do

If you would grasp it, then read and compare it with other great literature, you would also undoubtedly come to the same conclusion.

I love the Stranger. You should read more Camus if you haven't already.

My favorite book is Under the Skin. The book I enjoyed reading most is Catch-22.

A lot of people think Mersault wasn't moved by the loss of his mother, they're wrong.
Camus wrote him as an unreliable narrator but you can actually get his emotions through the way he acts and describes the events. When his mother dies, he's confused, he avoids any discussion about the subject (because nobody wants to talk about that to a military officer) and ends falling asleep because of his emotional exhaustion.

tbqh having the stranger as your favorite book only reveals your limitations in thought and attention. i'm not saying your favorite book should be a 1000 page doorstopper, but i am saying it shouldn't be a novella. as for ideas, you couldn't have picked a book with less of them. the whole point is that meaning is worthless (that is nonexistent). and there's so many well written books, why do you pick one with such shitty prose? you know you can still enjoy absurdism without having the stranger as your manifesto?
fyi my favorite book is either a portrait of the artist as a young man or the return of filip latinovicz. so you can judge me on that if you want.

Really enjoyed this one, though it's more of a guilty pleasure. Just for those sentimental moods when you want to read a simple story with a bit of laughs and a bit of feels.

Kept me cosy during the winter nights.
