This book will change your views on science, history, philosophy, and anthropology simultaneously, and it's a great read.

This book too. If you want to change the way you think, you should learn how you think in the first place. His other book, Proust Was a Neuroscience, is pretty interesting too, and is similarly thought provoking.

You want self-help books? Nothing will save you in that case. If you want actual non-fiction though, try Working by Studs Terkel.

Also read Collapse by the same author.

how did you get self-help books out of that?

I would watch this, instead of reading the book. But most definitely watch Cosmos the TV series.

I've only read it. Why do you think the TV version is better? TV doesn't hold my attention very well.

>Rich Dad Poor Dad

Just an impression though.

>> No.777713

Rich Dad, Poor Dad is on the level of What the Bleep Do We Know? when it comes to self-help books.

It's nonsense.

Cosmos may or may not hold your attention. Unless you hate Vangelis, or the way Sagan speaks, there's no reason why you shouldn't watch it.

By the way if you like Cosmos, check out The Ascent of Man (series or book; series is beautifully filmed though). There's also Jonathan Miller's series/book The Body in Question, even if is much harder to find.
