So is Pirate a schizo? Im only 20 pages in. He seems absolutely nuts, but I cant tell if its the character or just Pynchon's writing style. Pirate sees vivid images (sound like hallucinations to me) in his head accompanying his singing. And whats up with taking over other people's fantasies? Can he actually do that, is he insane? If he can do that, does that mean theres supernatural things in this book? Because I just thought it was just a book about wwii and the v2 rocket
