The only times I hate people who read out in public is in threatres, especially when they pull their e-reader out and illuminate the entire place. It's really rude to read during a public event, like the picture you posted OP. The only times you should be reading is when no one else is there.

I will agree he's put out some pretty shit books though. Most of them are decent enough but some are pretty terrible.
