I have $25 in Barnes and Noble gift cards, help pimp my cart?
So far I have Infinite Jest by DFW (May God bless his soul) which is $9.44. I have zero opposition to used books.

If you're looking for a DFW master cart try and check out:
>The Pale King
>Oblivion
>Literally any of his essays

Everything else, regardless of whether you think it's good or not, pales in comparison. Also the Pale King is his true magnum opus not eternal joking.

I'm quite tired right now, so I'll only make two suggestions. Hope that's alright.

1) If you're serious about book collection and want the ultimate book, get The Complete Works of Shakespeare (ISBN: 9780760703328). It looks amazing, contains beauty, and others will be impressed with it.

2) A miscellaneous and random rec would be the last book that I really enjoyed - Celine's 'The Journey to the End of the Night

Other than that, let your shopping flow with the ebb of your fancy. Have fun.

Crome Yellow is a short book by Aldous Huxley about a country house gathering that I enjoyed because it worked like a small machine with its varying characters. It's pretty funny, too.

it's five bucks near me

really though, I think they've got more subtle ones that have a jacket you can take off. I got the divine comedy for the half that price on terrible newspaper pages.

Get a book on Literary Criticism, preferably introductory material if you're not familiar with the field

Get anything else you want, preferably a classic in lit or philosophy

I recently finished Essays and Aphorisms by Schopenhauer and I loved it. It's just a collection of all of his smaller essays and you don't really need to understand Kant to dive in. I've had a few chuckles and he makes some great points. Give it a gander.

Notes from the Underground is worth reading too
