Why should I stop eating meat?

>> No.7545182

you don't need to unless you want to

You shouldn't deprive animals of life since it's the only possession they have.

Go watch a video of a baboon eating a baby gazelle alive and then come back and tell me animals are pure and innocent.

>> No.7545300

>>7545284
The baboon is literally unaware of it's unethical (if you must) decision, plus most of the time animals eat other animals in order to LIVE humans do not to pay someone to kill an animal in order to live (ironically leading to a delayed suicide on the human due to the higher chance of disease from the processed animal), humans simply do it because they have been raised and conditioned to have a pleasure in the taste and texture of meat. It's quite a simple concept but nothing can really stop you from saying "mmm bacon" but yourself.

So because some of it is bad you should stop eating all meat?

Fuck off with your bullshit and just admit you're an animal rights moral retard and this isn't about your own health.

That's just their nature. My feline friend, Vivian, would play with and kill a bird, but she's still pure and innocent. Humans can easily choose to stop eating animals.

Red meat, steak. Meat has a lot of things the human body needs like B12, collagen, etc. that you aren't going to get from veggies.

>> No.7545335

>>7545329
Yes but you can still get these things without having something with pain receptors suffer. I am not even trying to be a hippie or convert you but it is the most logical and ethical decision that can be made in terms of the human diet in my opinion.

I can understand if you're against the way many are treated in factory farms, but animals that are raised humanely and in healthy environments with lots of land and killed quickly and humanely seem fine to me, even from a logical and ethical perspective.

>Vegetarian diets confer protection against cardiovascular diseases, cardiometabolic risk factors, some cancers and total mortality. Compared to lacto-ovo-vegetarian diets, vegan diets seem to offer additional protection for obesity, hypertension, type-2 diabetes, and cardiovascular mortality.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24871675

>ell-balanced vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women, the elderly and competitive athletes. In most cases, vegetarian diets are beneficial in the prevention and treatment of certain diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, osteoporosis, renal disease and dementia, as well as diverticular disease, gallstones and rheumatoid arthritis.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15702597

as long as you eat a wide range of nuts, legumes, seeds and frutis/veggies and take the occasional B12 pill or B12-enhanced nutritional yeast as part of a vegna/veggy diet you are alot more likely to be healthier then a meat-eater

Red meat causes inflammation in the body (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25548184), and inflammation itself is one of the core causes of almost all non-transmissible health issues.

But that is incredibly rare due to the high-cost and low-profit, "stressed meat taste better" etc etc. I feel like 1/100 farms humanely raise animals.

>> No.7545404

>>7545391
You could make a difference by only buying non-factory farmed meat from a source you trust, even if it means not buying it as often as you currently buy meat. Ordering meat at restaurants is something that you probably wouldn't want to do, unless it's a fancier place that names the farm it came from.

Ok, I shouldn't support humane animal farms then-- I should let them go out of business and let the meat eaters only have the option of industrial farms. You know, because there are so many more of them anyway.
