you think there's a balanced middle ground that the BBC should take between feminism and the mens' rights movement

A political and intellectual tradition vs. a bunch of reactionaries who spend longer watching youtube videos and don't read books

This exact term is always the mark of an empty argument. Could please answer my question?

>>7470757
>you think there's a balanced middle ground that the BBC should take between feminism and the mens' rights movement
No I don't. I'm very much opposed to the men's rights movement. That doesn't mean I'm fond of feminism.

>A political and intellectual tradition
You're appealing to both tradition and authority. Just because it's had an effect on politics doesn't make its goals desirable, nor does its place in academic institutions make any of its intellectual theories valid. It just means its been accepted as part of the status quo.

> a bunch of reactionaries who spend longer watching youtube videos and don't read books
The term reactionary is completely meaningless as all notions of social progress are totally arbitrary (I'm sure you'll have some sort of Marxist response to this.)
I also don't know why you'd fault a "movement" formed under their circumstances for using a medium that suits them better. I don't think any books on the subject could meaningfully contribute to their discourse, so they're not exactly wrong in ignoring them.

In the last decade, who infamously is given quite a lot more good-will than it probably deserved.

When one of your key texts is written by a literal attempted murderer and is all about her own psychotic and delusional antipathy towards men, I'm not quite sure about how seriously I'd like to take it.
>a bunch of reactionaries who spend longer watching youtube videos and don't read books
You're reducing anyone who might have objections to "feminism" to its most base, fringe elements.

It's not like one would have ~2500 years of intellectual history to support ones stance on or anything.

Butting in, but I hesitate to call myself a feminist because it's a feminine-sounding ideology and I don't care. I carry some views which may be construed as misogynist, misandrist, and misanthropic. I don't care. It's all spooks in the end.

Feminism is a very broad and complex ideology. Anyone attempting to boil it down to a point this simple can only be doing so fro political reasons.
