I don't think it even has a place at higher levels of discourse and analysis. To me, it has never appeared to be more than a conspiracy theory rooted in envy. My immediate family is American so for them it's celebrated about as much can be expected, but for me as an individual I'd say I identify with both equally. I'm fascinated by Italian architecture and history and most of my favourite philosophers are German.

Well, I'm not really a part of a movement yet but here is what I have to say. Northern Italians (who are primarily a mix of Germanic and Mediterranean) are Indo-Europeans, just like Swedes, Anglos, Germans, and all of the other Germanics. It would certainly be easier for you to join a Germanic movement than a Dravidian or Native American. Personally, I think it has more to do with which side of your heritage you identify with. You've inherited two great cultures. You can attempt to straddle them both or you can choose one. I don't think I would consider someone "purely" Germanic unless all of their great grandparents appeared to be but that's not to say you couldn't be welcomed into the nation in some other way. This is actually something I've already done a good bit of thinking about but I still need to think it over before I can come to a conclusion I can feel strongly about.
