Sea of Fertility is Mishima on hardmode. I've only made it through Spring Snow thus far - it's fantastic, but it's really dense and requires a pretty attentive reading. Kind of having a feel for Mishima and what he's about helps a lot going in, too, because most of his particular ways of looking at the world are explored more subtly and it would be easy to not track with parts of the emotional narrative or some of the autobiographical bits.
