nothing happens in this book. Nothing serious happens in this book at least. It's just the petit booze-shwah being silly. Doesn't make it not a great book because it really is and the last third is phenomenal, but can't pretend loads happen

I'm going to give an example of a recent book I've read: crime and punishment. Murders, deaths, orphans, prostitutes, thieves, jail, depression, sickness and so on.

What is pride and prejudice about? Gossips and getting married.

I'm not even trying to be edgy, I don't even enjoy the former themes, but PP is literally boring. A book with as many female characters as possible, with 90% of them not developed enough.

And the love development is just stupid.

Austen tells the human condition as it is
