What writer's style should I imitate to get a gf? I really admire Jack Kerouac's prose so I sent a cute friend of my sister's a text message about drinking coffee in the cold by the sea while discussing "raw mad life." What does /lit/ think?

If youre young enough to ask that, then just saying you are a writer and having things for a girl to look over will be enough.

This. Also, unless you're blisteringly incompetent, that never stops being true unless she's really into lit/is a writer herself. Most people can't tell good lit from bad. Moreover, the girls who will like you for writing actually like you for demonstrating creativity, intellect, competence, and a willingness to put yourself out on a limb and show stuff you've made - the actual work is aside the point.
