hey /lit,

where can i publish philosophy online? i'm currently working on a new philosophical model, and i want to introduce it to a greater critical audience, but don't really know where to look. i'm an academic, and want to avoid philosophy journals given the project's nascent and inchoate status; besides, this particular work harbors a series of analytical holes that i have chosen consciously to overlook.

in any case, any suggestions would be great--i'll post some good art in the meantime (all titles/artists are in filename).

If you purposefully ignore academia, especially in such an academically grounded subject as philosophy, no one is going to take your philosophical writings as much more than the arbitrary thoughts of a layman.

that is what they currently are--do you understand what nascent means? i think you're missing the point of the post: i AM an academic, and publish in academic journals. i'm curious if there is something of a less formal--but still trafficked--site, blog, whatever, that could provide commentary/feedback.

there are times when crowd sourcing your work to other academics is not necessarily the most profitable enterprise, especially when you are concerned with producing a more popular variant.

Just market your writings as pop-philosophy then.

Have a blog and after it gets a fanbase, sell a pseudo-intellectual pop-philosophy book.

provocative suggestions: how do you muster any traffic whatsoever for a newly-minted philosophy blog, then?

there really aren't more structured forums than 4chan, but less formal requirements than academia, to own and shoot around philosophical ideas?

Find a niche, market yourself, make some controversial statements.

Now do the rest for yourself.

I'd suggest scouring the internet for people who you can add to a contact list who've established that they can /Phil/. Then email them a PDF for feedback. Maybe even use google docs as a way to have an open discussion.

>become a moderately successful fiction author
>use your recognized fame to publish your philosophical writings
>inspire a successful TV-show and get internet cred

Easy.
