His fiction is simplistic. Not bad, but maybe not the best use of your time. But if you have an interest, don't let people here dissuade you.

Read the stranger and myth of Sisyphus, both can be read in an afternoon.I loved the stranger when i was 16 but i can't reread Camus without cringing now. I think you should definitely read them, i dislike ranking some literature as stepping stones but I definitely think Camus is a stepping stone that has to be crossed.
