I don't know how that's even possible. Your usual writing should eventually turn cursive because you need to write fast sometimes and contrary to the ridiculous, absurd belief that cursive is flowery and full of pointless flourishes, cursive is in fact what format writing becomes when you write a lot very fast.

If your handwriting is still like that of a computer's it just means you don't write with your own hands enough.

Also, OP is a fag. I too believe it's better to hand write but it's stupid as shit to act smug and superior because you do it. It just helps you remember and organize thoughts more efficiently (on top of the strong impression made by the symbolic and imaginary qualities of writing with pen and pape)

I type faster than I can hand-write. My typing is able to keep up with my thoughts. Hand writing causes me to get hung up on particular words, or worse to forget the rest of phrases while I'm jotting. Being not-used to hand writing, my hand becomes sore quickly.

Moreover the editing capability of word processors is extraordinary: copy and paste, undo, redo, move this paragraph out of the way for now, bring it right back in etc.

The risk with word processors is that one get hung up on the text layout (this can really, really have strong effects on poetry composition, usually not for the better). You are also restricted to writing inside at your desk, whereas a notebook can follow you out into the rain and into the hay field.

Fortunately, one is not restricted to either or. I'm not sure why I just wrote all this, it's obvious. I'm not sure why this thread exists either. oh well!

I haven't practiced handwriting for very long, I got these Sheaffer pens about ten years ago, and just got refills recently...

I like to leave a bit of space for digesting.

I've heard they aren't as good as they used to be. First pic of yours has a lot of bleed through, but the second pic doesn't. Different pens?

Just to comment on your writing though, it didn't look like it's improved much to me. No offense I hope. One thing I did to improve my handwriting was relearn cursive. Experiment with different scripts and methods.

I wouldn't know how they used to be, I only started keeping them in 2014 (as a New Year's resolution). But yeah, there's certainly bleed-through; I thought I saw more in the second picture, myself. I use a Lamy Safari for almost every page, since I leave it attached to the closing-band on the journal.

I was thinking of switching to a different type of journal, but it would ruin the consistency of having a lot of them lined up and pretty to look at. And in some way, I like the messiness of the bleeding.

I do still know and use cursive (for notes that actually need to be written quickly), but it's just as bad looking as my print. I think what I might do is buy one journal to dedicate to handwriting improvement and practice. Cursives, alphabets, scripts and copying letter references into it. Having a journal to fill is the best kind of motivation I give myself; I use them for to-do lists too.

My handwriting didn't change from preschool until i went to college. For some reason I never bothered to develop my own style.
Now i write everything in print. Perhaps because I'am a STEMer.

I agree. I have a hard time keeping it. I mostly use it for to-do lists and keeping myself on track for the day. Sometimes i write entries but I keep it too a minimum. Too often I cringe while rereading them.

I'm looking for a new journal though... I am just using walmart teir lined books right now and would like to upgrade for that aesthetic you speak of.

By the way, how many pages do you fill in a day on average?

there is but one answer: practice. it sounds pretty lame, but if you got some pages of cursive practice sheets, coined them, and devoted an hour a day for a month, you would see improvement. it is but a matter of doing.
