Today my computer died just minutes before doing its normal backup. Truly shat itself, all files unrecoverable. I had just written thirty pages of what felt like the start of a good novel, not God tier but a really solid story. How does /lit/ keep writing after shit like this? I feel like an heroing, I'm just so mad and confused.

It may be frustrating, but you can almost guarantee that the rewrite will be better.

Here's some motivation: http://lostmanuscripts.com/

30 pages. Don't you remember what you wrote in those few pages?

If it was really good, surely you'd remember enough of it to start over? It's only 30 pages.

Write it again, bitch nigger.

What, you think it's so fucking good you can't do it again? Are you that willing to let your own fear of failure control you?

Write it again.

All my writings are made on Scrivener due to its auto-saving, saved to a external hd and uploaded to dropbox from time to time just in case. I'm absolutely afraid of losing anything I write when I'm inspired, because I forget shit super quickly.
