What I expected:

Interesting and controversial thoughts on the role Islam in 21st century France and the West

What I got:

In the book under French Islam, the women are allocated based on income. The main figure/Houellebecq's self-insert is offered a position at a Saudi-funded Paris university, so he can have 3 wives.

There's a rather gushy example about the "wife pickers", experienced females who work long to pick out the perfect wife for anyone since men "can't inspect the goods".

So working class scum would probably only get one, but "so fitting" wife.

I don't think we're going to see that. The sentences from your screenshots may as well be from Soumission, and there's 20 years in between, that man does not develop.

Are (failed) normies really this obsessed with sex?

I'm not the best womanizer out there. I get a gf every few years ( and it fails horribly each time ), and to get off I go every now and then to a prostitute and that's it.

I don't feel like it particularly owns my life. I know ways how to deal with that aspect.
But the more I come on 4chan, the more I realize the lot of you really are obsessed with it more than any other pursuit in life.
Or is it because you're Americans, and as Houellebecq himself even put it, you people only think of drugs, sex and how to become an even better sociopath yourself?

Or I guess the people I meet in real life do not wish to admit their thirst this much, but it has been revealing.
I'm not above it all, I guess it's just a sort of indifference on my part.

Well, that's your own fault. It was never his intention to write such a book. The furor over the content in Soumission is due to a) The timing of its release following the Charlie Hebdo attacks b) Idiotic media and reviewers having to latch on to a specific controversy in the novel such as with his earlier charges of misogyny and racism. It's a work of fiction which utilizes the current social climate in France not a treatise about Islam in Europe.

"Normies" is a meme at this point, but the average Westerner these days really is a bit of a loser. Obsessed with sex, drugs, entertainment. Now, those have been constants throughout human history, but at least in the past a sense of responsibility and piety instilled through fear and respect allowed even the lower classes to maintain a certain degree of respectability. Now we've torn down all the guardians of morality and culture, and as a result the average person is a stinking pile of sewage.

Basically, the Protestant Reformation and the Renaissance are the worst things to happen to Western civilization.

people are hedonistic and our science has always been about easing our lives (only a few believes that science is about truth, and they cannot even justify their stance). People are not wrong to be hedonistic but in hedonism, it is never enough and in the end, hedonism is hardly effective. We will see where our demand of liberties will lead us, beyond some leisure industry. Once that you add that women have a easier life, and do anything that they can to keep their advantages, no wonder that a few men have resentment.

I don't get it. Part of the value of women not only comes from them being more choosy by nature, but the women who are actually attractive are a rare "good".
The fertility window is 15 to 45, realistically you 18 is legal and you see a women is "older" at 28, so that's a 10 year window where they are hot TM.

So...
>>7289496
>Sounds like paradise tbh
I don't figure you mean the scenario where a 24 year old man marries a 45 year old woman.
Men will can marry between 24 and 60, say, so it's even worse when multiple wives are allowed. One 30yo man marrying three 20 to 30 year old women takes away a huge bulk of options for the other 24 and 60 year old men.

>> No.7293968

The problem with polygamy is that all the rich alpha guys will get all the good girls, while all the betas will have no one to marry and then they grow long beards and go on angry jihad, and then you get the shithole known as the middle east.
