Can you imagine how many books were burned and how much information was lost during the Dark Ages?

Thank god religion is a meme nowadays.

If humanity had been nihilists from the beginning rather than dogmatic religious types, we'd be extinct by now

can you imagine how many books are thrown out now? Just people tossing out first editions, signed copies, lost manuscripts, misprints, last copies of books that were otherwise destroyed or wiped out, just because they fell into the hands of someone who didn't know what they were holding, or just didn't care.

No one is a Nihilist in 2015 past the age of 16.

It's repulsively juvenile.

The major cause of works lost in the Middle Ages was when we switched from using scrolls to using codices; just like there's a ton of stuff on VHS that never made it to DVD before the tapes degraded.

Just imagine how insufferable the "start with the greeks" cunts would be if even more of their obsolete tripe had survived. Thank you, filthy illiterate peasants of the Dark Ages!

Makes me think that books like Heart of Darkness by Conrad will be forever banned in the future if liberals and feminists get their way. Sorry, I'll go back to /pol/...

I just read an article about how the Confederate monument on Stone Mountain is being topped by a martin luther king statue. ISIS are blowing up religious sites and world heritage sites across the levant, and we are less than 20 years from the destruction of the Buddhas of Bamiyan.

Dont be so quick to discount the power of religion or the fact that certain groups see the destruction of culture as very very useful.

the movement to censure literature with "trigger warnings" exists as well. It actually exists.

When the fuck did this thought process begin? A decade ago, conservatives had the reputation for wanting to ban everything. You're too young to remember that though, huh?
