1) No one actually reads Marx and friends. There's no real need to as people are Marxists to be edgy and rebellious without having to actually think for themselves.

2) The only "Far Right" or "New Right" groups that have anything close to a centralized set of core texts or a main treatise were the actual National Socialists and Fascists, and the majority of their texts are in German and Italian. Neither of these groups have any philisophical bearing today as people are brainwashed from childhood to think "NAZI = BAD" as a reflex rather than an actual disagreement with their beliefs. Because of this you either get kooks ranting aimlessly or huge libraries of utterly inscrutable philosophy that is not only obtusely large but also full of highly technical language.

Moldbug's "Intro to Moldbuggery" is like TEN FUCKING PAGES LONG. And not 10 paper pages, but 10 web pages. The site he wrote it on RAN OUT OF ROOM some TEN TIMES. The Communist manifesto is 18,000~ words. That's less than each PAGE of Moldbug's introduction. It doesn't matter how right Moldbug is. He could have diagnosed the problems of the world, put forth solutions, and backed them up with inarguable facts and logic. NO ONE will read it because just figuring out what the hell he's talking about is the equivalent of reading every issue of the Encyclopedia Brittanica ever printed.

It's that his very most basic elaboration of his philosophy (Or, more so, his introduction designed to sway you to his side) is absolutely enormous. When people hear "I'm an 'x'" they don't want a five hour seminar on the history of political theory, they want to know why you want to gas 6 trillion jews/destroy the government/steal money from the rich/whatever and how that will benefit them. I would partly agree with you though - for where as a radical-right (ie. typical /pol/ user) demonstrates as much freedom of speech as a radical left (antifa/ extreme feminist etc) it will be the man of the right that will, whether partly correct or not, always be at loss against mainstream society. And so uneducated people who are seriously racist are used as sort of ammunition for the left - because though the radical left may be just as uneducated, ignorant and unknowing - they will never have, or have comrades who, support the nazi regime and other such dastardly bad regimes (though why communism isn't seen as equally evil - I'll never know, I suppose it's more fashionable because it wasn't 'racist'?)

The "New Right" is as phony as "New Atheist" and just as meme-y. There is nothing new about it. There is a set of issues that traditionally go in the left corner and the right. The conservative and Christian-right wants to go back to the feudal period, the right-liberal (libertarian in the US) wants the "free market" back, the nationalists/racists want all the races to go back to their (ancestor's) corner of the world and die, the imperialists want New Rome. They all want the past. They imagine things being better in the past. They're the biggest whiniest babies of all history and there is NEVER, by definition, going to be anything new about them.

Marxism, the better variety, rolls with the times. The basic premise is still sound, but the circumstances of the world have changed since Marx's time. He'd be the first to admit it, and get to work researching an update.

In the leftist future, I imagine the new left/right fight to be one over the communal vs individual way of life. The edgy teen will leave home to take on the world, but settle down somewhere and raise a family

/lit/ doesn't discuss the "new right" because they haven't done the necessary reading. They find those ideas new and scary and so would rather pretend they don't exist and so shout down or at best ignore anyone who tries to bring them up. They were sheltered from these awful mean ideas during their undergrads by the academic power structure and so become angry when anyone suggests that there are other ways of seeing the world out there. It's pretty depressing to see people who fancy themselves to be intelligent and well-read behaving this way, but what can you expect?

I've made the comparisons (I can't be the first to have seen this) that the old conservatives who want to "go back to the earth" is also very much a leftist ideal. Earth First hippies, agrarian anarchist.
