Hey /lit/, i consider you as one of the smartest boards on 4chan right now so let me ask you somethíng. (excuse me for my english by the way)

What do you consider being happy in your live?
I myself am just starting to realise what an enormous adventure you have to go through to consider yourself lucky/ happy.

For me its a game of stress and relaxation at least thats what im thinking right now, i often look around in my current workplace and try to imagine why people are as good or as bad as they are why they can endure stressfull situations or why they brake under that same stress.

It has become clear to me that if you want to have success in live you have to build something, a kind of stress release valve, so to speak, for your live.

So tell me /lit/, what do you think about it from your individual perspective

Happiness is a myth, the founding fathers guaranteed the pursuit of happiness, not happiness

I dunno, I think happiness comes when you feel content. I found a career I like, I'm making good money, I got married this year, my wife is pregnant, I can see the direction my life is going and I'm OK with it, I have never been happier.

you have to know yourself and know what you want in live to acomplish true happiness i guess

>> No.7192389

Happiness comes from non-obsession. When you can take things as they come. It fucking sucks when you something bad may or may not happen but you have to wait but you can't take the waiting because you obsess over it every waking second of your life until it happens.

you dont get what i mean i guess, let me be clear.. if you live in a good country and think that everything you want is impossible because you have a lot of work in front of you and have to consider everyone hating on your success because they can not escape the little world they made up for themselves and follow their dreams, if you consider the stress it would take to make your dream a reality its just a trick of your mind to make you do nothing at all... its you who is your gratest enemy in live noone else

Trust me, you do not want to obsess over trivial shit, that you know is trivial, 24/7. It consumes you.

>> No.7192421

What defines happiness is merely the question. You should ask yourself “how can I get happy?” and “do I want to be happy”? Not everybody bases its life around the pursuit of happiness.

no not over trivial stuff no, but try to think about yourself and what you want most in live, make that to your motivation source. Happy Live is really mostly about self-realization if you think about it

Do things you enjoy
Structure/plan your day to do the things you will (reading, exercising, learning, contemplating, socialising, etcetera)
Be mindful of your flaws and do not condemn yourself for them
Don't take it all so seriously
Enjoy yourself and giggle at life's banter

These are all easier said than done; if you start routines/hobbies like meditating (not necessarily buddhist meditation) and/or reading, and balancing that with physical activities such as exercising and eating well, then chucking in some socialization, you'll probably be quite happy once it all becomes routine. If you struggle with procrastination or being busy, then right a day plan each morning of what you shall do -- we have a lot more time than we believe

thats right i think to ask yourself "how can i get happy" is the right question, yet you have to know who you are to answer that correctly and by that i mean who you are subconsciously as well.

you can make yourself happy if you smoke a joint while you are in a relexed and good thinking state of mind, but dont smoke while angry or depressed because your brain will make the "bad" mood connections stronger.

happiness is often misrepresented as some kind of object that we can grab a hold of and keep in our hands but really it just comes and goes and comes and goes the only way to truly live is to accept each and every emotion that comes your way and to simply roll with it. i've found that it's when i repress whatever i feel that problems start to arise and i feel dead inside.

i guess ive read to much about the brain itself, but id have to say that you can not hide your true feelings even if you want to, your body language and your eyes give everything away anyway, so just be yourself and dont adjust yourself to much to be somebody else

>> No.7192527

>>7192457
yea exactly don't hide it.
it's the hiding process that really causes shit to overflow and you start to feel abit nuts.

but of course once you realize the pursuit of happiness is the source of disappointed (sadness) because a pursuit entails expectations and then you plainly see that true happiness isn't fulfilling one's expectations, then you feel no struggle for happiness and it welcomes you and you it
