Is atheism the worst meme of the 21st century? How badly are future generations going to judge the 2000s and 2010s for the rise of atheism?

>> No.7168659

radical islam is the worst meme of the 21st century lad

>> No.7168683

We're shifting over from the worship of deities to self-worship, and future generations are going to be a lot more polarized in terms of success as a result.
Being an atheist is a great idea if you legitimately are smarter and better than everybody else. The problem is that most of us aren't.

I want to agree but..>>7168659 is probably right. Atheism in its present fedorarific manifestation may be embarrassing, but it hasn't killed anyone.

Atheism is the byproduct of a more knowledgeable and reasonable society. You know where people are the most superstitious? In areas where literacy rates are the lowest. Religion only impedes ethical progress.

>> No.7168719

>>7168697
Your picture illustrates an excellent point: the self-worshipping nature of atheism leads many atheists to a false sense of superiority, which few of them, if any, possess. Ideally, only world leaders would be atheists, and they would deny the shit out of it.

>>7168687
I don't know. I disagree with ISIS' cause, of course, but they are, at least, working towards some collective goal -- something that I'm afraid the increasingly atheistic West will lose.

>Atheism is the byproduct of a more knowledgeable and reasonable society.
It absolutely is, in the same way that Islam was the byproduct of Christianity, and that Christianity was the byproduct of Judaism.
Only the strongest, safest, healthiest cultures can beget such decadence.

>You know where people are the most superstitious? In areas where literacy rates are the lowest.
Because they absolutely need religion to be productive, as do you, and as do I. Being illiterate, they just need it a little bit more.

>Religion only impedes ethical progress.
Does anyone follow the 613 mitzvot today? If anything, religion keeps "ethical progress" in check.

I don't know, most of them "fedoras" just seem to be misguided teens trying to validate themselves like >>7168697 or something cooked up by theists in order to make the "opposition" look bad by taking a picture that seems to confirm the stereotype and just attaching a quote to it >>7168648
Either way, it's elementary level juvenility and should be ignored for the non argument it is.

everything is wrong with this. I feel the same way reading shit I agree w/ too though, like when a school won't let two gay dudes dance at prom and fags say, "Well what about shellfish? haha"

sure, gays should be allowed to go to prom, but let's see something original, guys.

The fedora-toters are just what happens when atheistic egoism is adopted by the very last people who should ever even consider it. They're a joke. The general trend towards atheism and atheistic behavior is what we should be concerned about.

>> No.7168805

>>7168794
True or false, real or not, they're harmless. As you say, a joke. Then why feel so threatened? Why retort to them whenever atheism enters the discussion?
I feel m'lady doth protest too much.

>> No.7168808

>>7168794
Those fedora-toters you loath, part of the larger group of weak and pathetic people, are just the type of people religions are designed to attract. Strong, intelligent, independent-minded people have no need for religion, which glorifies poverty and meekness. To put it into words you might understand: religion is for cucks.

>> No.7168840

>>7168808
The joys of poverty and meekness aren't necessarily synonymous with religious thought though.
Ironically, those supposedly Christian values were most likely an influence derived from the more secular schools of Greek philosophy, the ones that either separated the divine from personal interaction or flat out denied it.
