I'm planning on checking out the works of Philip K. Dick; what three books would you suggest I start off with, /lit/?

His short story collections.
It's the most vibrant source of his concepts and ideas, well worth getting trough before you tackle his longer, more in depth work.

Three Stigmata
Scanner Darkly
Valis

Gives a good overview of his mind bending pulp stuff, his more serious and restrained works, and his total wackjob stuff. (Also arguably his three very best books.) Then depending on which you like best you can seek out more stuff like it. For example Three Stigmata -> Ubik, Scanner Darkly -> Transmigration of Timothy Archer, Valis -> Divine Invasion

Valis itself might be a good start, though untypical of most of his works, it's part autobiography and introduces almost all of the themes and contexts by which the rest of his works were written.

Okay, so from the looks of it, the one book I'm seeing pop up a lot here is Ubik. I'll probably start off with that one for now. Either that or Androids. I'll probably look into A Scanner Darkly after I read those two.
