what's so special about this book? it felt like few random stories without any conclusion at the end.

>cannot grasp the aesthetic effect the book produces as a whole

A seven-year-old can do it, and you can't?

My ex gf was so crazed about this book, I used to fuck her in the ass each time would mention it.

It's nostalgic, even as a kid in middle school it felt nostalgic. There's a great sense of innocence and wonder in that book that can't really be beat.

I always carry The Little Prince and Finnegans Wake in my bag

It's a poignant discussion and dissection of the human condition, racial tensions, consumerism and modern life

It is a mystical book disguised as a childish one.

If you didn't understand this book you might be retarded.

It's a very clever piece of literature written to have both a meaning to children and adults.

The point is to read it when you're a child, then later as an adult to compare both perspectives.

You didn't feel anything when you read this?

>"To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world . . ."

what does it mean?

>> No.7169777

>the book is just well-written
>it's a hidden critic of our world
>it's a plain fairy tale

Seriously? Like 80% don't get it. Read “Terre des hommes” and “Citadelle” and then reread it. It's a clear disguised mystical depiction of Saint-Exupéry's Christian humanism principles. Making children read it also doesn't make sense.
