The jeweled tortoise is a small episode (blown up in significance similarly to the cultural emphasis on Don Quixote's tilting at windmills, compared with its relatively minor role in the plot), but yeah you've got the right idea. Copy everything after the !
ex: trip!fag.1203fds
You would copy !fag.1203fds, and put it in the filters and highlights section, and click hide. Pic related:
next you click save, tick off "Filter and highlights" in settings, then press save.
