My average rating sits around four too. If you're reading mostly classics, like me, it makes sense that you will like most of what you read, especially if you are being picky within the classics.

If you want a real eye opener, go into the "literature" section of a bookstore, or just pick up some stuff given tiny reviews in the New Yorker. Most of this stuff tends to be 2 - 3 for me.

Things my friends recommend me, fantasy novels, etc, tend to fall in the 1 - 2 range.

I love most of Shakespeare's plays, but I found those two-star plays (The Taming of the Shrew, Much Ado about Nothing) subpar compared to his tragedies. The only comedy that I thought was at the level of his tragedies was Midsummer's Night Dream.

>could you share your thoughts here on your country's literature?
We don't have many good authors. Onetti and Quiroga are probably the most representative authors of our literature (both write the kind of depressive literature, Quiroga particularly since his life was quite tragic and at the end he commited suicide). Benedetti is well-known too, but I haven't read him that much.

is there a free ebook database that isn't torrenting?
the torrents came up short for me
also never knew there was a lit board, pretty cool

I was assuming that was a page for info about books, and not a source for free books themselves
thanks bud
but before I go through that process, the problem is that the book I'm looking for has occasional illustrations
and while I found torrents for my book, the only files that had the illustrations they were too small to see, or in shitty quality
I'm new to the world of ebooks, so I don't know if this just happens with all ebooks?
I tried epub and mobi files, is a pdf file less likely to have this issue?
