So how many more books can we expect from him?

And how long does he have to live?

It's Terry Prachett.

inb4 0/10 all over the place.

>> No.709747

I thought Tolkien was already dead

>> No.709744

george rr martin sucks

>> No.709748

Oh he should live for at least another decade, but I'm afraid his career as a writer is pretty much over.

He may manage another one or two books, but they probably won't be much good. Just look at the Wintersmith.

>> No.709749

And I just started reading Discworld.

;_;

REALLY?!??!?!?!

>> No.709770

Pretty much ever since his second Discworld novel, his wife has had co-creator status. (You'll see this if you check the publishing information on the inside. Characters and events are copyrighted to the both of them.) Considering how much the first Discworld book kind of sucked, I suspect she's had a substantial hand in assisting him. That leads me to believe we may expect a book or three even after he loses his faculties entirely.

Damn shame.

Well it's at least 20 months old, so not too fresh evidence.

Prachett apparently intends to make a exit via assisted suicide, before he's too bad. And he's 3 years down the mean life expectnacy of 7 years. A decade is decidedly an outside bet I'd say.

>> No.709936

It could be worse, he could be GRRM and you'd be hoping and praying he'd lay off the pizzarolls for long enough to finish one lousy book.

>> No.709943

>>709936
I love his books, but I don't think I'd like GRRM as a person very much.

NOT MUCH LONGER. DON'T START ANY LONG BOOKS.

>> No.710021

Alzheimers might make them even more interesting to read

>> No.710049

>>709988
Doesn't matter if he starts long books, he won't remember what page he's up to anyway.

>> No.710142

>>710049
He'll probably wake up every day thinking he should really start on a new book, it's been ages.

>> No.710156

>>710142
Or that he doesn't need to write a book for a while - he just finished the last one.

>> No.710167

He signed my copy of Hogfather a while back: wrote HO HO HO in it.

Probably we worth a lot more in a few years : (

>> No.710181

I just want to see I Shall Wear Midnight. I love the Witch books so much, and it'll be the last Tiffany Aching book.

Don't stop playing, Fry. I want to hear how it ends.

I really want her to become power crazy (like when she was possessed) and end up fighting Granny Weatherwax in a huge duel.

I like Terry's characters, but I really want to see one turn evil for a change.

I keep hearing rumors that Esk might resurface for this one. I mean, good lord, she'd be a grown woman by now, wouldn't she? And, really, it'd be fitting to see her again for what's probably going to be the last Witch book.
