State your age and how many books you've read (approximately) thus far.

You plebs don't carve a notch into your bedpost every time you finish a book? Fucking amateur hour in here tbh.

Nobody else does this. /mu/ doesn't ask how many albums you've heard. /tv/ doesn't ask how many shows you've seen. Only on /lit/ do you find people who care about how much of a field you absorb, rather than how much knowledge or insight you gain.

This. But if you were ever in an English department you'd know that 90% of lit people are stupid misguided bigots of varying stripes

It's that and the problem that most posters are or are pretending to be extremely punchable teenagers

somewhere between 700 and 1500, I really have no clue. I was a serious bookworm as a child, I read hundreds of books through college, and I've read at least a couple hundred books here and there throughout the last ten years.

25. I only started keeping track in 2010, and I've read 700 over the past six years.

Especially if you count manga, I kept that pace when I was a teenager. I don't know if you're counting children's books, but I read the entire libraries of my elementary and intermediate schools, which both had at least 1,000 books. But they were all kid's books, lots of picture books.

I think 3,500 is a good estimate. 4,000 would be closer if you count individual manga volumes, but that's kind of cheating.

kinda related: I´m such a painfully slow reader, will i get faster with pratice? I don´t mean by practicing special tecniqes, but just by reading a lot.

high five

I can list all the books I read

some book about a ghetto basketball kid early in middle school and then I read Jurassic park I think? and then the godfather I think if that's a book and then timeline by the Jurassic park dude (freshman year in highschool) and then senior year I read Kafka's metamorphosis and his other short stories (which aren't books really but they were all in a book format) and then this year (I'm 2nd year in community college) I read a very short story by Nikolai Gogol and then now I'm reading house of leaves

there's probably a small handful more in there somewhere but that's the jist of my entire reading history

22 y/o. Somewhere between 400 and 500 books. I've been using poker cards as bookmarks since I was nine, and I would leave to card in the book after reading it to mark it "as-read". I've burned through at least eight packs of cards like this, and I imagine my hometown's library is still finding those cards to this day.
