Is there any way to get fucking stickers off of NON GLOSSY paperback books?

Pic related is easy but I have tons of used paperbacks from the 70's or 80's wear pulling the sticker off takes the cover with it

This is why I love you /lit/

Oh and OP, I get mommy to do it. She can remove stickers perfectly. Maybe it's long fingernails?

use a razor to start, pull the sticker at the most acute possible angle, grip as close to line of adhesion as possible all the way through, go extremely slowly but maintain constant speed, stop immediately at a snag and begin from new place altogether

Alcohol pads work wonderfully for removing sticker residue.

stickers add character, along with notes from previous owners and various things shoved between the pages like receipts and business cards. don't get rid of that shit. leave it pristine like the tags on a nigger's hat.

This is a better example of the kind of book I mean.

See if I use alcohol or whatever it's just gonna kill the cover as well as the sticker

Run a lighter against it for a few seconds then scrape it off. The heat from the lighter will make the glue on the sticker loosen up and become pliable

Ask the clerk for a copy that doesn't have a sticker on it when you buy it.

I keep my stickers on there so I can show off how much I spent.

What's the point of having physical books if it's not to show proof of your impeccable taste and disposable income?

If Tutis put that title out, on the other hand, I think they would use something like this:
