God I remember those books. The first four-five were good, but after the vampire trials it started getting lame. Had to skip one of the books because it was so cheesy

You have no idea what you're talking about. It turned into a fucking awesome fantasy epic right after the trials. You didn't even wait for the series to get off the ground.

Tbh anything from the Alex Rider or Power of Five series by Anthony Horowitz. I just chose pic related because it was the first one I owned (even though it's the third book in its respective series).

This is probably my only opportunity to discuss Horowitz on this board so I may as well take it.

What were your favourites from the two series I mentioned? With regard to The Power of Five, I loved Raven's Gate (I still fondly and vividly remember the part where the cogs turn in Matthew's head and he discovers what exactly is going on in that village or whatever the hell it was), Evil Star, and Necropolis. Didn't enjoy Nightrise much and by the time Oblivion came out I felt too old to properly enjoy the series any more.

I've never even heard of The Power of Five, and I can barely remember anything about Alex Rider, which is a shame, apart from remembering that I enjoyed them. I think I read the first four books. The one I remember most clearly was Point Blanc. The end of Eagle Strike was really good and a real wow moment for my young mind.

I occasionally watch a bit of Foyle's War with my parents, which Horowitz created.

I loved reading Percy Jackson and marking out inaccuracies.

God, the first book in this series gave me a fear of elevators that continues to this day and I used tap the floor of one before I went in to make sure it wasn't a hologram.

Oh shit nigga.
This was truly great.
The atmosphere is top tier. And creepy as fuck in parts.
Like Druidic stories and love craft had a child.
Of course mostly ok for younger teens.

>inb4 pic related came out in '06
I was 11 when I read it. It's what got me into Clive Cussler books. Love that pulpy action shit.
