What's the best book on the Vietnam War fiction and non fiction

>> No.7008744

>>7008692
Best non fiction I read was Dispatches by Michael Herr.
A less entertaining but informative non fiction book is The Best and the Brightest by David Halberstam. It's more about the background of the war. The decision makers in Washington DC. Less about what was going on in Vietnam. Dispatches is more of a "boots on the ground" book.
Only novels I read set in Vietnam were The 13th Valley and The Short Timers. I wasn't particularly impressed with either one of them,
