Every time I start to read I get bored, I cant seem to find a genre that interests me.

I'm can't find literature I like either... I honestly don't know what I like... I can't stand war/gangster/old times (19th, early 20th century). Like I actually have nothing I'm interested in.

I actually enjoy reading textbooks (medicine, chemistry etc), but I feel like I'm missing out on great works or not giving my brain a rest (as a medical student constantly reading medical books I can get bored when I need to be interested).

well, let me tell you I used to have the same problem as you anon. I didn't like reading and each time I tried to read a book I got bored and sleepy, so what did I do? I bought a book of something I really liked, I reaaaally like Fight Club, so I give it a try to the book and now I like reading a lot.

I'm drowsy after reading fiction for half an hour. When I was 18-23 I could go all day with that shit. Not no more, though. Try reading non-fiction even if it's some plebby shit like Jon Ronson.
