What are some good books about the effects of war?

Marlantes' What's it like to go to war

The guy wrote Matterhorn based on his experiences in the Vietnam war. This one's non-fiction about his experiences and how he tried to cope with his PTSD, so that may be up your alley.

Can't I just come off as a hipster for once in my life? Yes, I saw it and watched it and I liked it and wondered if there was more like it in literary form. I thought it would be like Deer Hunter but the film did me in after I watched it.

Is that from Come and see?
I haven't watched it myself but if so it's a pretty famous war movie, not obscure at all.

It's famous among aficionados, but I know only a couple of people, from a largish pool of cinephiles, who have seen it.

Anyway, OP, how about Ernst Junger's Storm of Steel? From a more removed perspective, Keegan's The Face of Battle?

I don't understand why anyone would post on a literature board without knowledge of even basic grammatical structure.

What are some books about war with protagonists who enjoy killing? All the books I've read about war portray it extremely negatively, but there's plenty of people who enjoy combat and killing. There used to be whole societies devoted to the art of war, it's obviously a natural part of the human psyche at some level.

No, you're wrong. 'Affects of war' would imply War's personal belongings.

It's a good film.

It should be promoted indiscriminately, for great justice.

I remember, I was fapping on Shadbase and I noticed one of Shad's Nazi Jinx pinups had "Come And See" tattooed above her mons pubis.

I pointed out my pleasure at such an unexpected reference given the context.

A Soviet film about the people rising up and and going after some Nazis? "Patrician"?

Disgusting abuse of the term, comrade. To appreciate Come and See is to have Prole taste

That kid has the best expressions. The Academy should give him an honorary award for this role. Surely he got one in Russia, no?
