I'm legit depressed because I didn't add anything to 'the legacy of totalitarianism in a tundra'. I don't think it's possible to write a more conceptually important book in the current cultural moment.

I haven't taken part in the writing of Tundra, or any other /lit/ masterpiece and I have very serious doubt, that anything worthwhile (for a reader) can come out of this kind of cooperation, but I think the process itself is very interesting.

A peculiar mix of chat, forum, literary outlet, meme cesspool and a kind of arts&crafts free for all, that has never been done before. I think we should start doing this regularly, just for the sake of the process, for ourselves, it's not like the outcome is goin to be valuable to anyone besides us.

ESSAY POSTED IN DOC:

A Brief Essay Concerning the Ineluctable Ontology of the Inception of Our Literary Movement: Anarcho-Synergism/Collective Consciousness:

IT CAN /B/ AGREED THAT ALL THAT EXISTS EXISTS ON 1 LEVEL AS INFORMATION. DATA POINTS IN A FUCKING MASSIVE HYPER-REAL SIMULATION. INFORMATION RELIES ON AN UNDERLYING SYSTEM OF LANGUAGE. AS SUCH, WHEN EXTENDED OVER AN EFFECTIVELY INFINITE PERIOD OF TIME, P. MUCH INFINITE PERMUTATIONS OF THE LANGUAGE CAN EXIST. WHAT I’M GETTING AT IS THAT EVERY CONTENT THAT CAN EXIST DOES EXIST ON LIKE A THEORETICAL LVL. SO BASICALLY ANYTHING THAT’S MADE IS JUST COLLAPSING THE QUANTUM POSSIBILITY OF WHAT’S GONNA GET SHITPOSTED NEXT. COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS. IT’S POSTHUMAN, YO. IT’S NOW YO. IT’S FRESH. EVERYONE THAT EXISTS IS CONTENT AS WELL AS THE CONTENT THAT EXISTS. U CAN SEE THIS MANIFEST IN THE FACT THAT WE’RE ALL ANONS ON 4CHAN. WHEN EVERYONE IS UPLOADED FROM THE CLOUD, DATA STREAMS OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND POSTS ABOUT CUCKS ON 4CHAN WILL B BASICALLY INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM 1ANOTHER. OR IF THEY’RE NOT INDISTINGUISHABLE, THEN THEIR DIFFERENCES WILL BE INCONSEQUENTIAL. WE WANT 2 MEMORIALIZE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL ABOUT THIS DATACHAOS. IT’S BEAUTIFUL FUCK U.

Why Defunct? It's a shit two syllable word. Am I missing something smug about it?

Why not "Postprevalence"
It's incredibly smug while still poking fun at ourselves as well as being both ironic and truthful

"Post" has unfathomable meaning in the sense of /lit/ connotation like Post-irony (our generation (as opposed to the ironic gen x)), post-modern, to post etc. Prevalence because post-pre interaction and as a commentary on the state of current 4chan. Have a look at the definitions:

prevalence (countable and uncountable, plural prevalences)

1 The quality or condition of being prevalent; wide extension.
2 (epidemiology) The total number of cases of a disease in a given statistical population at a given time, divided by the number of individuals in that population.

Prevalent definition:
prevalent (comparative more prevalent, superlative most prevalent)

1 Widespread or preferred. [quotations ▼]
2 Superior in frequency or dominant. [quotations ▼]

And here's the definitions for Valence

Etymology 1

1 (extract, preparation):, from Latin valentia (“strength, capacity”) (1425)
2 (combining capacity): from German Valenz (1884)

Alternative forms

1 valency (mostly UK):

Pronunciation

IPA(key): /ˈveJləns/

Noun

valence (plural valences)

1 (chemistry, medicine, obsolete outside compounds) An extract; a preparation, now especially one effective against a certain number of strains of a pathogen.

2 trivalent vaccine (one meant to be effective against three strains)

3 (chemistry) The combining capacity of an atom, radical or functional group determined by the number of electrons that it will lose, gain, or share when it combines with other atoms etc
4 (chemistry) The number of binding sites of a molecule, such as an antibody or antigen
5 (linguistics) The number of arguments that a verb can have, including its subject, ranging from zero (for the likes of "It rains") to three (for the likes of "He gives her a flower").
6 (psychology) A one-dimensional value assigned to an object, situation, or state, that can usually be positive or negative
7 (sociology) value

Hello, friend. It seems you're a tad too late to contribute to the prototype. Do not panic. We, a collaboration of five from the original post, have unanimously come to the conclusion that Defunct — and thus, AS/CC — is at an infancy yet to produce something of considerable merit, if possible. We're entertaining the idea of making Defunct official and available to all our Anonymous members out there on a biweekly basis.

We do value everyone's unrestrained input, but the perk comes with founding a regulative body of sorts (this proves within itself a controversial matter) that can weed out the iconoclasts from those with genuine interest without disrupting the ebbs and flows of consciousness or twisting it. We will attend to these issues before we ever consider hosting a second event. Anonymous' potential is vast, we do not doubt it. The safest route would, however, suppose we take precautionary measures from having any one person prevail or dominate the document. We are not administrators, forbid. Our primary function does not entail altering the work by any means to meet our end. We will work at any cost to preserve every word. Of course, our work begins in succession of the document coming to a halt, if a work is in progress we are as any other member of the hive-mind and never claim an upper hand.

Doubtless some may remain wary of the entire project, we completely understand. Though, we ask you to sympathize. The goal remains as it is, offering a space for emancipation: A place to vent, express and promote under the guise of an anonymous body with no particular agenda. An archived memory of our subculture, about who we are and what we individually represent. We may suggest from time to time a general template to follow, but deviance is welcome and certainly appreciated. There are no rules besides remaining germane and original for, after all, this is your content.

Do remain patient, there's more to come.

I 'contributed' to both the Kolsti Everglades book and Tundra 3, and both of those died out before completion. I'd say you're ahead.

The Kolsti book doesn't even count as collective consciousness because the best part was written by Kolsti himself.
