Takes a long time to learn to a decent reading level and it's a complicated language. Also, you have to learn new stuff for different timespans like Homeric, Attic, Koine, Modern.

I studied Greek for a few weeks. I thought it would be fairly easy because I already knew some Latin. I gave up because it's just not worth the effort. Modern Greek is irrelevant, and studying Ancient Greek is a vanity project.

Nothing, yet. It seems very easy to pick up, though--most of the words are recognizable, because they made it into Romance languages as roots/prefixes/suffixes.

Don't bother you'll probably give up in a few weeks, or months at the most.

Latin does have that advantage over Ancient Greek but you're still in for memorising tables of declensions, conjugations, case uses, preposition uses and so on. Worth it if you can motivate yourself but it's a ton of grinding. Latin does have LLPSI which makes it less boring because you learn through context, but it doesn't eliminate the grinding.
