How /lit/, how does something like this not only gets published but gets so much recognition.

There was more autism secreting from its pages than a curious incident of the dog in the nighttime.

Is that all it takes. Shoddy, self-masturbatory stories that fuel teenage autism while making pop references that serve no purpose.

Yes, I'm jealous.

>had to read this book for one of my college's "culture" class
>author visited the campus and searches his book on Twitter in front of 300+ students
>awkward silence as he reads the mean tweets we all made about his shoddy piece of shit book

In all honesty, one of the worst books I have ever read, and the author is a huge narcissist as well

This is a book that only appeals to the least common denominator of humanity.

Books like "Ready Player One" that foster escapism are literally toxic for the mind

The end game is that Literature becomes as low as the Comic Book Industry.

>yfw, Art will lose all its intellectual value.
>yfw, it took centuries to build up literary culture, and it will take so again.
>mfw, only Philosophy will remain supreme.

We need to learn a new language so that Plebs can't read out shit. That way, the Plebs can read their John Green in English, and we can read the Bell Curve in Latin.

The comic book industry isn't this low.
Erotica isn't even as low as this book.

At least they accomplish something. This book, it doesn't do anything other than tell you that the authors lived in the 80's

Some autistic friend of mine actually passionately recommended it to me... Then, without doing any research, I recommended it to a total lit-patrician friend of mine. He has ignored me ever since. I've lost all credibility as a reader among my only well-read friend! And now feel like the biggest tool.

It was a moment of weakness. I trusted my autistic friend's taste and used it to impress the other..
I can't come clean either, because then he'll doubt that I even read at all!
