Should companion essays be read before or after primary sources of Philosophy/Higbrow Lit? I like to read primary sources first so I can make up my own mind first, but would it be more advisable to, say, read an essay on Aristotle's Logic before going through the Organon?

Should have added this to the OP: Should the reading order be: Introduction text -> Primary Source -> Essay?

Just read the original texts. Why do you need somebody to tell you how you should read? Honestly even wikipedia would be a better idea to just briefly skim over the philosophers ideas, otherwise you run the risk of being stuck with the essayists interpretation/opinion rather than your own.
