What genre of music do you listen to while you're reading?
or do you prefer to read in silence?

I can't listen to music when reading because I cant keep focus on one or the other and ill end up reading entire paragraphs without knowing what I read. The one exception is when I read hard detective novels. Ill listen to boren and der club of gore.

I've been listening to less and less music while reading lately. When reading poetry, it doesn't work at all, because a poem has its own rhythm... What works most of the time is ambient stuff : Celer, Tim Hecker and the like. As long as it's beat-less it's okay.

>> No.6848925

Why the fuck would you listen to music while reading? That would just ruin the experience.

>> No.6849026

Depends on what am I reading on. Usually listen to some chillstep while reading on PC, Tablet. And, prefer silence when it comes to physical books and Kindle. I actually enjoy reading in deep solitude of silence. As, it increases the dilemma of reading experience I am having by the scenario of relevant book.

I read in silence.

The music I listen to is more conducive to moshing spasmodically in a hole full of sweaty latent criminals.

Can you read in the same room as someone talking? Is there any way to learn how to tune people out?

I love this song, I'm sure it's super cheesy if I understood dutch, but hey, I can imagine it has the most interesting lyrics in the world. Cool beat and vid friendo.
