What kind of books do fascists read?

>> No.6829188

It depends.

Contraty to popular opinion, a fascist can be intellectually developed and quite intelligent.

If you are asking for fascist books , or books that fascists base their ideology upon, you can look at Plato, Hegel, etc...

It is also wrong to think that a fascist inherently has a different library than everyone else. I guess like any ideology or religion, it depends on your own views of reality, not entirely in something external.

Of course an educated fascist should have read all Marx and other lefist stuff.

"butthurt over a source" never heard anyone use that before, neat. maybe the reason is that Mein Kampf is extremely nonsaying and everyone invested in WW2, The Third Reich and Fascism in general will already know everything explained in the book? (Hitlers Ideology, his Bio, Lebensraum im Osten, his plans for the world after the war is won). But I guess education in other countries isn't as good as ours.

The biggest reason not to read Mein Kampf is that it's written like fucking shit. It repeats itself unbelievably often, Hitler often struggles with putting together coherent sentences and instead of talking about the matter at hand he just tries to infuse his ideology into the listener. This was of course the primary purpose of the book, seeing as it was given to every single household in Germany.

Rousseau's concept of the general will can certainly be interpreted in a fascist direction. You see, the general will is something entirely distinct from what people want or vote for; even if everybody agreed on some particular law, it is not inconceivable for Rousseau that the general will should be dictate an alternative. Hence, the dictator, within Rousseau's system, can present himself as the one person capable of divining the general will, more than the populace is (see here the idea of a Fuhrerprinzip). It may be argued that the dictator is smarter, or the the populace has been deceived or is simply incapable of governing itself.

Whilst none of this is spelt out within the text of the Social Contract, it has an unfortunate precursor in the figure of the 'Legislator', the individual tasked with drawing the constitution. The Legislator is a figure blessed with an acute knowledge of his people and their nature, and therefore, capable of creating the first laws and institutions in such a way as that they will be able to continue governing freely in his absence. So, the people are already incapable of drawing a constitution for themselves, at least, and require the guidance of some exceptional individual.

Of course, Rousseau was inspired here by the legendary legislators of Greece (Solon, Lycurgus etc.), and I have no doubt his commitment to democracy was genuine, but the influence his ideas had, particularly on the development of nationalism, unfortunately did partially contribute to the development of fascism.

That wasn't even the original person you were relying to, that was me.

You have absolutely no idea what Hitler's goal was, or what fascism or Nazism were about. You take Nietzsche's always-contextual sayings as his universal maxims.

There is one mistake I see you make, that many beginners make, about Nietzsche. They treat Nietzsche's philosophy as though it's a categorical imperative for all humans to be overmen.

He is explicitly against codes for all people.

The other poster is right. When Nietzsche uses words like "state", "nationalism", etcetera, you view them in the way we do today, with our perceptions, interpretations and biases. You have to view them as he did, and in the context of fascism and nazism having never happened. If Nietzsche had seen what nazism and fascism played out, he might have said other things

I know you're blubbering mad right now-try not to be.

>Nietzsche does say that, morality was created by the weak to subjugate the strong
Immoral strongmen often end up with their neck in a guillotine or noose.

>He discourages liberality and favors deceit to guarantee support from the people. Yet Machiavelli is keenly aware of the fact that an earlier pro-republican coup had been thwarted by the people's inaction that itself stemmed from the prince's liberality.

Who cares what kind of special snowflake label you've put on yourself. The point is that you people are fucking morons and are the very people Nietzsche railed against. If you don't think he did, you should get off of your ass, out of your mom's basement and go to a bookstore

>> No.6830061

You're so blind that you have literally NEVER presented an argument based on text or ideas instead yelling about other people misreading.

Nietzsche railed against those creators of a state who FALSELY claim they are the people, not any state.

Yes, I'm sure Nietzsche was a fan of anarchism even though he was a fan of the Indian caste system

Haha "machiavelli was satire" - double whammy against your ability to understand anything that isn't contemporary academia

BTW, Nietzsche encourages you not to accept academic views on things.

No, you're that moron. I'm not even a fascist, lol, I'm letting you assume I am though because it's funny imagining you in your dirty undies, face smeared with food, mind ablaze imagining me in all sorts of various propagandistic concepts, and how inert it all is.

>I know you're blubbering mad right now-try not to be.

Nice projection, but Doritos fascists like you aren't really a source of anger, you're more a source of pity to me.

Marx wasn't a communist, he was a Marxist. Yes, he wrote the Communist manifesto, but didn't actively embrace it; he always traveled first class and didn't support gulags in the USSR.

Oh, and for the record, literally zero respected machiavelli scholars today accept the satire interpretation. So you've set a razor agains yourself: align yourself with the liberal, selective readers of Kaufmann's campaign academics on Nietzsche, or against them on Machiavelli?

Pointing out Machiavelli contradicts himself will fail you too, because so does Nietzsche.

He did. It's in one of the last letters he wrote after his horse embrace to insanity.

Literally the same days as when he signed letters as "Dionysus" and apologized for having to be God.

He genuinely didn't like antisemites, but that specific quote should scant be used to describe his entire view, and it's important to view why he hated antisemites (protip: it's because they're full of resentment and don't learn from the Jews' superior traits)
