they're prone to victim morality
they think "I'm a victim therefore I am good
people that oppose me or are indifferent to me thwart my goals and are therefore bad"
it helps explain the world to people who consider themselves victims in a way that makes them seem deserving of a better lot in life
the problem is these people are losers at heart and will always feel wronged no matter what changes are made

Ted was queer, too.
