I identify with this image and got mad at green, bro and chick even thought I can't think of a single example where this happened to me. Maybe some early internet communities, but not a fanbase per se.

I keep waiting myself to grow out this obssession with "legitimacy" that I feel when I attach myself to things I like. I think it comes from the fact that I started enjoying a lot of the things I enjoy today precisely because they were a normie-free space and outsiders always annoyed me.
